EGT Probes Used In Marine Diesel Applications

Bio-Fuel Diesel Exhaust Gas Temperature Probe Thermocouple Sensors for Marine Applications

Marine Engines are critical components to maritime vessel operations either for propulsion, power generation or auxiliary machinery operation. Typically these systems employ diesel engine management systems that rely on sensor inputs to manage operating performance for efficiency and shutdown to prevent catastrophic engine failures.

The Bio-Fuel Diesel Probe is designed for these systems using highly a reliable Type K thermocouple. Marine diesel applications are some of the harshest environments in the extreme, temperature cycling, pressure pulses, corrosive gases, salt water, chemical exposure and vibration. Our Bio-Fuel Diesel Probe probes have been designed to withstand all of these conditions with only the best materials.

Understanding that reliability is of the utmost importance The Sensor Connection EGT probes are made of Inconel sheathing material and a special mix of MgO that will not crack or crumble. The conductors are FEP insulated, 2 meters long and rated for 250 deg C operation and terminated in flying leads. The conductors are covered by a stainless steel over braid material that resists vibration wear, cuts from sharp edges and abrasion. The compression fittings are made from 316 stainless steel for corrosion resistance.

They are offered in two configurations; 90 degree bend and a straight design. If you need something different contact us. We will make a custom probe that fits your application.

Some of the typical ship board applications are where diesel engines are used in propulsion, bilge pumps, cranes, bulk product handling machinery such as conveyors and pumping equipment.
