Product Overview of PMDW Series LED Digital Display Pyrometer Gauge
Hello, and welcome to the Sensor Connection product overview video series.
Today we will briefly review the SuperLight W series digital pyrometer microprocessor based digital pyrometer. It’s a completely sealed NEMA 4x ip65 front bezel making this meter ideal for wet or high humidity environments often found in marine, military, process, and offshore racing applications.
Our customers choose them since they are easy to understand, simple to set up, and their small size allows them to fit into a cramped instrument panel. The W Series Superlight Series meter is compatible with all of our EGT probes and CHT sensors and compatible with most other brands of thermocouples.
The SuperLight W Series meter provides the user the ultimate in flexibility. Changes can easily be made to the program using the two buttons on the front panel. User adjustable setting include changing the temperatures scaling between Fahrenheit and Celsius, modifying the high or low alarm set points, and changing the display from red to green.
At the back of the meter, we find an industrial grade screw terminal strip for securely attaching the wires to the meter. We like screw terminals since they really get a tight hold on the wires which lessens the concern over the wires vibrating loose. These connections encompass all the meter i/o including the thermocouple, probers, meter power, and relay.
Moving to the front of the meter, we see a brightly lit four digital backlit LED display. The readings are clear even at a distance. The display color is user selectable between red and green.
The watertight front panel keypad is easy to clean and wipe down from any oil, water, dust, or dirt accumulation.
The temperature can be displayed in degrees, Fahrenheit, or Celsius. The meter also has a peak hold function that stores and displays the max temperature value allowing you to focus on your driving not the display.
Here’s the high alarm feature to warn you of an over temperature condition. This fires an internal one-amp form C relay contact. When alarmed, the display shows the numeral 1 in the bottom right-hand corner of the display. The user can choose for the display to change color and alarm as we show in this example or maintain the default color.
The SuperLight W Series meter is available in prepackaged kits that include pre-selected II GT Probes and accessories like well bungs, compression fitting, and extension wire.
