The Stainless Steel Bung Port Plug is designed to seal unused 1/8"-27 NPT exhaust ports when an EGT probe or sensor is not installed.
It provides a simple, reliable way to close off weld bungs and maintain proper exhaust system integrity.
Why Plugging the Bung Matters
An open bung in an exhaust system is not just a cosmetic issue—it can affect system performance and measurement accuracy.
An unplugged port can:
- Allow exhaust gases to escape or outside air to enter the system depending on operating conditions
- Dilute exhaust samples and affect oxygen sensor or wideband readings, often resulting in a leaner-than-actual indication
- Expose nearby components to hot exhaust gases
Sealing the port ensures the exhaust system remains closed and operates as intended.
Construction and Fit
The plug features:
